Our Ewes
We own a small flock of registered Finnsheep. Finnsheep are known as an affectionate breed of sheep used by spinners for wool. They are smaller than most other breeds of sheep, making them more manageable. Finns are great at multiplying, as their litters are regularly as many as two-five lambs! The all-time record for the most live lambs in one litter, is eight! Finnsheep don't grow horns, and they have naturally short tails. They can also be used for milk and meat, as Finns are a landrace breed. They are a great multi-purpose breed!
Our flock is dedicated to wool production and great temperament. Some of the matriarchs of our flock are amazing animals and have grown to be very special to us! Addie is one. She is one of the original sheep we had here, and she is a sweet and loving ewe who is always ready for some scratches and cuddles. We adore her, and even though her days of raising her own young ones are over, she will remain an important part of the flock here in the days ahead. Our breeding ewes are bred each year to focus on the breed standard, which our daughter Erin enjoys studying and is happy to talk about. We care for and love our sheep. We breed our ewes in the Fall and sell adorable and friendly lambs in the Summer. We select a few of our own lambs to retain each year in order to keep improving our flock. Our ewes are quite friendly, are great mothers, and have beautiful fleeces.
See the Finnsheep Breed Standard Here, or look at the FBA Color Guide to learn how to identify a sheep's color, pattern, and/or spotting!
Olde Haven 093 "Millie"
Birthdate: March 7, 2020
Color: Black HST
Litter Size: 3
We bought Millie, our first ewe, as a pet in April 2020. Since then, she has delivered beautiful, healthy, and rambunctious lambs with no difficulty. However, we have decided to let Millie retire as she has never really enjoyed raising her lambs. Each year of lambing, she has been overwhelmed by raising her own. Millie has always been the loner of the flock. We often see her in a corner of the yard or barn away from the others. Millie is too smart for her own good! She can tell when we plan to shear her or do something else she doesn't like. She refuses to take worm medicine, but thankfully, she has a good immune system. Millie loves scratches from us and wags her tail when she receives them! Her long and fluffy black fleece has silvered out a lot over the years, and her lambs have shown to do the same! We believe she carries the silvering gene, which is cool!

Addie has delivered beautiful sets of triplets and one set of quadruplets for us. She always has a nice, large udder every year no matter how many lambs she delivers. Addie has a dense, single-coated, crimpy white fleece. She was born at Stillmeadow Farm and may be retiring within the next few years. Addie will spend the rest of her days at Fox Farm enjoying a peaceful life. She is very special to us!

Primrose was born from Addie in the Spring of 2021. She has the best personality of any of our ewes. She hugs people when given attention! She is not a pushy ewe, she has always been the most laid back, calm, and sweet girl. Primrose is the perfect example of the personality and temperament everyone wants! She is among our best mothers, with wonderful maternal instincts, and a big, well-formed udder. Primrose is our largest ewe! She is tall and has a long body, which allows her to raise large litters of lambs. Primrose has a 500% lambing rate, with an average of 5 lambs each year! Hazel has proven to be a reliable source of our most beautiful grey lambs! Her babies always have the most adorable faces! She has a nice udder as well. Hazel has become one of our favorite ewes not only because of her personality, but also because of her fleece coloring, desired genetics, and the fact that she is from our sweet Addie!

Fox Farm 023 "Rue"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Black Reverse Badgerface HST
Litter Size: 5
Rue was born on our farm as a tiny quintuplet from Primrose as a nice surprise! We were not expecting a reverse badger, as that pattern is rare and new in the Finnsheep world, and we didn't know her sire or dam carried this gene. Rue is a stunning, calm, and quiet ewe. Once she is warmed up to you, she loves a good scratch on her chest. Her fleece is long, single-coated, and beautifully crimped all over. Rue has lots of silvering in her black wool, and it is eye-catching! We always look forward to her shearing. Rue has grown into a beautiful, well-sized, and overall excellent-quality ewe just like her mother. She has great parasite resistance as well. Rue has proven to be an awesome mother right out of the gate with lambing!

Clara is another beautiful ewe from Primrose. She is a quintuplet ewe with a stunning, single-coated, tightly crimped black fleece! She has beautiful jet-black wool. We are very excited to create things with it! Clara has a sweet personality from her dam. She always comes over for massages and petting, and she loves it. Clara gives warm and fluffy hugs to her favorite people. She has excellent conformation and great parasite resistance. She has been a perfect mother to her lambs, even for her first time. Clara also has a beautiful face like her dam and grand-dam! We love this girl!

Fox Farm 024 "Aowyn"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Solid White
Litter Size: 5
Aowyn is one of Primrose's many sweet and beautiful lambs. She has a luxurious single-coated, soft fleece from the combination of her sire's and dam's beautiful fleece genetics. Aowyn carries the brown gene from her sire, and we hope she and her sisters will have some brown lambs in the future. Aowyn has beautiful brown pigmentation all over the skin on her legs and head, which is desired on white sheep. Aowyn is calm and quiet, much like her mother, and she prefers to be scratched on her chest like her sister, Rue. Aowyn was a natural mother for her first time with lambs! She also gave us our very first solid black reverse badger ewe, which has made us very excited!
Lambing Record:
2026 - 3
Fox Farm 026 "Penny"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Black HST
Litter Size: 5
Penny was the second quintuplet lamb in her litter, born to Primrose. Being close to a solid black ewe, we hope Penny might deliver solid black lambs, as we do not own any sheep of that color. Penny has a wonderful personality. She is super calm and gentle, and also loves attention. Penny will wag her little tail constantly while being rubbed and petted. This girl butters us right up! Penny's fleece is long, well-crimped, and dense like her sister's fleeces. Just like all her sisters, she has matured into a well-sized ewe. Penny has a sizeable udder with good-sized teats, and she proved herself a wonderful mother right out of the gate! Penny also shows excellent conformation from her dam and sire. We hope Penny and her sisters bring more stunning, sweet lambs to this farm!

We bought Olive from a farm in ME as we were looking to add a young, solid brown ewe to our flock.
She has a sweet, energetic, and in-your-pocket personality. She is a favorite of visitors, as she loves all people. Olive likes to put her leg on people who visit, and sometimes jumps too. Olive is a sibling of Faramir. She had a petite build, but turned that right around and caught up to the other girls in size! Olive has really surprised us with her growing beauty. She stands out in the flock now as she is the only solid brown ewe at Fox Farm.

Zinnia came from the same farm that we got Dahlia from. We were looking for a brown badgerface colored ewe to add to our flock, and Zinnia is such a sweetheart. This petite girl follows us around for attention whenever we come in the pen and is actually one of the most friendly sheep we have here. Nothing phases her. She isn't afraid of strangers either, which makes her an instant favorite for visitors!

Fox Farm 031 "Lizzy"
Birthdate: March 19, 2025

Lizzy is the first piebald lamb that Addie has given us! She bears a resemblance to a Holstein cow with her distinctive markings. Lizzy has strong piebald colors, and we think she will certainly pass those on! She has great conformation, being tall with long legs, and is likely to be a natural mother. Lizzy has a very sweet personality, and she wags her little tail constantly when petted! She comes from very desirable genetics, and her lambs will likely carry those wonderful qualities as well. Lizzy has a gorgeous crimpy fleece with lots of dalmatian spotting mixed in! She is certainly a star ewe here on Fox Farm!
Fox Farm 032 "Hyacinth"

Hyacinth is from Daisy and is one of our largest ewes with her long body and legs. She is definitely the biggest of her litter! She has really strong piebald genetics and is covered in dalmatian spotting! Hyacinth is a sweet girl who loves attention from her caretakers. She has an evenly crimped fleece, and we look forward to her shearing. She is a gorgeous girl and is one of the first brown piebald ewes born here on Fox Farm! We are excited to see what is in store for Hyacinth!
Fox Farm 033 "Iris"
Birthdate: April 2, 2025
Color: Black Reverse Badgerface Piebald
Litter Size: 3
Iris is another beautiful girl from Daisy. She is the first ever ewe lamb on Fox Farm to exhibit both the reverse badger pattern and the dalmatian piebald spotting! Iris' colors were an exciting discovery for us. She is growing into a good-sized girl like her mother. We are very excited to see how Iris' markings develop as she grows! She is very sweet and friendly, like her siblings and dam. We hope Iris passes her colors to her lambs so others can enjoy them too.
Fox Farm 034 "Tiger Lily"
Birthdate: April 2, 2025
Color: Brown Piebald
Litter Size: 3
Tiger Lily came from Daisy along with her two sisters. She was the last one born, but we knew we would be keeping her the second we saw her! Tiger Lily, much like Lizzy, has the perfect Holstein cow pattern. She, also like Lizzy, has dalmatian spotting in all of her white patches. She has soft wool. Tiger Lily always catches everyone's eyes and attention with her beautiful pattern. She carries a strong gene for piebald, and we expect many spotted lambs from her!
Fox Farm 050, "Chamomile"
Birthdate: April 19, 2025
Color: Brown Reverse Badger HST
Litter Size: 3
Chamomile is the first brown reverse badger ewe to take a place in our flock of ewes. She is a truly stunning girl. She has beautiful markings and fading on her perfectly uniform and crimped fleece. Chamomile has a sweet personality and likes attention. She is of average size. Chamomile has great mothering potential, as her dam, Dahlia, was an absolute natural at it! We hope Chamomile brings litters of stunning reverse badgers to us!
Fox Farm 064 , "Marilla"
Birthdate: March 28, 2026
Color: Black Reverse Badger
Litter Size: 3
Marilla is the most stunning black reverse badger we have ever seen. We might be biased, but we really do believe that! She was born out of Aowyn and Faramir, a fitting pair of parents, if you've seen The Lord of the Rings! Marilla has taken on the best qualities from each of her parents, as she has a slender, shiny, and dainty face like her dam, and a wonderful personality and good conformation from her sire. Marilla also has a very beautiful fleece. It is very consistent, crimpy, and has some very eye-catching reverse badger markings! Marilla is our first reverse badger to have such highlighted sidebar markings. We knew Marilla was a keeper the second we saw her and that she was a girl, haha! We love this girl, as she is among the first lambs who come over to see us every time we visit the pen.
Fox Farm 055, "Pheobe"
Birthdate: March 13, 2026
Color: Solid White
Litter Size: 4
Pheobe is a very sweet and absolutely stunning white ewe from our best ewe, Primrose. White Finns are becoming more wanted again, as people have been focusing their breeding for more exotic and rare colors and markings, and have realized white is not as common as it once was. We want to keep the white color in our flock, so we kept Pheobe for that reason, plus other reasons such as her wonderful conformation. Pheobe is just about as big as some of the twin lambs, only she has had to fight for her food, since she is a quad. Pheobe has a very consistent and crimpy fleece, and is a very friendly girl. She will smile with her stunning face when petted. Pheobe has one of those faces that we as breeders are seeking to achieve in most of our lambs. Most of the Addie-Clan members have this face. (Addie Clan members are sheep who are from the lineage of Addie, our matriarch ewe from Stillmeadow, who has every quality we want in finnsheep.) Pheobe is a very promising white ewe!
Fox Farm 060, "Heidi"
Birthdate: March 17, 2026
Color: Black Badger HST
Litter Size: 4
Heidi is out of our beloved Hazel, who is a sister to Primrose. We are seeking more of the darker grey badger colors, and Heidi appears to be a good match for that color. Both her sire and dam are stunning, dark black badgers, and yet they only have one darker colored lamb in a set of four once a year! We think this coloring is rare, and we do not want to lose it. Additionally, we enjoy working with this darker grey wool in our projects! Heidi is a super sweet girl! She follows us around for attention. She has definitely inherited her mother's adorable personality! Heidi has always had a consistent crimpy fleece, while still having a very nice length of wool. We love how this girl is turning out!
Fox Farm 066, "Lady Susan"
Birthdate: March 29, 2026
Color: Black Reverse Badger Piebald
Litter Size: 3
Lady Susan is a remarkably stunning spotted ewe. We considered selling her, but we just couldn't after seeing all of the possibilities with her! We believe Lady Susan carries super strong traits for piebald, and we hope she delivers many more who look like her, so that we can share this beautiful coloring. Lady Susan has the true piebald spotting that we have always dreamed of. Lady Susan seems to take more after her mother's side, with a sweet personality. She will come over to see us every time we arrive, and she loves receiving attention! Lady Susan's name was chosen to match her fancy colors, and her elegant face.
Thistle Springs Farm 68 "Queen Esther"
Birthdate: February 26, 2026
Color: Black Blue
Litter Size: 3
Esther is a pretty girl who came from Arkansas with Rahab and Thaddeus. She has a wonderful in-your-pocket personality and loves attention! Esther has stunning blue fade marks in her wool. She has much potential to turn grey over time. Esther carries badger, blue, and solid color genetics, so we are excited to see what she brings to the farm! She is the first blue sheep we have ever owned. Esther has a sleek and shiny face like her siblings, and we can't wait to see how she turns out!
Thistle Springs Farm 67 "Rahab"
Birthdate: February 26, 2026
Color: Brown Badger

Rahab is a beautiful brown badger ewe who came all the way from Arkansas! She carries the genes for blue and solid badger genetics. She has a sleek and shiny face, which we prefer in our Finns. We are excited to see what Rahab brings to the farm!
